KOVARI ISLAND | NOVEMBER TRANSMISSION
The Breathing Season
World Update + Masquerade Quarter Spotlight
Island Update
The moons have edged closer this month — pale blue, grey, and lavender. Locals call this time The Breathing Season: when the island seems to shift beneath its own weight, exhaling everything it’s been holding in.
Across the regions, strange patterns are emerging.
In Thornway Retro, the lights of cafés and diners flickered out one evening, replaced by static whispers that faded as quickly as they came.
Sector 9 has been hit by phantom code — glowing pink and blue symbols crawling across concrete walls before vanishing.
Carnivale is louder than ever, Syndicate presence tightening as street performers and rebels blur the line between chaos and control.
And in Sablewood, residents report soft lights moving through the pastel trees — not Guardians, not drones, just silent motion between the leaves.
The Guardians have altered their patrols. Strikers have been seen near the regional borders — a rare sight outside of sanctioned crossings. No one knows why.
District Spotlight: Masquerade Quarter
Masquerade Quarter has entered what locals call The Mirror Season — a month of nightly performances and endless rehearsals. The cobblestone streets stay lit until dawn, reflecting the city’s love for theatre, masks, and transformation.
But this season feels different. A midnight play known only as “The Faces We Owe” has appeared without posters or schedules. Attendees are told to wear masks until sunrise and speak to no one on their way out. No footage exists; no one recalls its plot. Only fragments linger — a voice in the dark, a hand against glass, a mirror that doesn’t reflect what it should.
Despite the unease, the Quarter is thriving. Crowds gather nightly beneath silver lanterns, artists perform on rooftops, and the entire district hums like a living stage.
Closing Note
Kovari feels restless — not dangerous, but aware. The Guardians are listening, the Syndicate is watching, and the island seems to be waiting for its next cue.
End Transmission.
